Post Earthquake Status of Alpaslan 2 Dam (07/02/2023)

After the terrible earthquake disaster in our country, the status of the dams, which are of utmost importance for the safety of our citizens, should be checked as quickly as possible.

As Energo-Pro Turkey, the condition of our Alpaslan II Dam and HEPP facility, which is approximately 390 km away from the earthquake zone, was immediately visually checked.

Afterwards, the results of the dam measuring instruments were analyzed by our expert team in the fastest way and it was determined that there was no situation that would endanger the dam safety.

Accelerometer devices deployed in the dam detected an acceleration of 0.3089 g during the Elbistan epicenter earthquake. This figure remains on the safe side within the dam design values.

In addition, inclinometers installed to measure the horizontal movements of the dam slopes and 3-axis joint gauges to measure the movements of the dam grouting gallery were analyzed, and no movement was found.
