Water Safety Education for Students by Energo-Pro Turkey
Energo-Pro Turkey recently conducted water safety awareness activities for students in primary and secondary schools located within the impact areas of its hydroelectric power plants. Held between May 20-21-22, 2025, the sessions took place in villages near the Karakurt Dam and HPP in Sarıkamış (Kars Province) and the Aralık HPP in Borçka (Artvin Province).
The activities aimed to inform students about the risks associated with artificial lakes and canal systems, where water levels can fluctuate suddenly due to seasonal changes and power generation. Students were warned about the dangers of entering these areas for recreation or cooling off.
Visual materials were used throughout the sessions, including the screening of Episode 11 from the children’s animated series “Su Elçileri,” produced by TRT Çocuk.
Previously implemented at the Alpaslan II Dam and HPP in Muş, this training is being expanded across other project areas, highlighting Energo-Pro Turkey’s commitment to community safety and awareness, especially among children.
