A World First at Muş Alpaslan 2 DAM: Fish Passage and Breeding Area Project is Progressing Successfully in the Trial Phase.

As Energo-Pro Turkey, we are proud to announce the successful progress of an important project in the trial phase, proving once again our commitment to environmental sustainability and biodiversity conservation.

The fish passage and breeding area project, which was realized with the restoration of the chute pool in the outlet water of the Muş Alpaslan 2 Dam, is one of the first examples of its kind in the world. This pioneering project, developed with the valuable cooperation and expertise of academics from various universities, has the potential to break new ground for the protection of natural life and the sustainability of fish populations.

Details and Significance of the Project:

In this project, in which developing technology and engineering know-how were used in the best way possible, the chute pool at the outlet water of the dam was transformed into a special passage and living area where fish can safely migrate upstream and downstream, and at the same time continue their breeding activities in accordance with their natural environment. With this system, which is currently in the trial phase:

- Biodiversity Conservation: It is aimed to contribute to the continuity of the populations of local fish species by minimizing the potential negative impacts of dam constructions on fish migrations.

- Supporting Natural Life: It is aimed to support the healthy functioning of the ecosystem by creating environments suitable for the natural reproduction cycles of fish.

- Scientific Collaboration and Innovation: The project stands out as an exemplary work at the international level in the field of engineering and environmental sciences by bringing together the knowledge and innovative approaches of academicians from different disciplines.
